I am sitting around a dining table with some old friends, enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal, when the conversation quickly turns to a Christian healing conference that two of them have recently attended.

“The speaker was teaching us from the Bible, and we were taking notes, when he suddenly stopped. We looked up, saw him put his Bible down on the podium and look over to his left, ” one of my friends explains excitedly. “Before we knew it, he had stepped down from the platform and headed over to a woman in the audience, who the Holy Spirit had clearly prompted him to notice.”

“It was incredible,” my other friend adds, breaking into a broad grin. “The woman had been in pain for 25 years. She had come in a wheelchair. But he spoke to the pain and told it to go in Jesus’ name – and it just got off her and went! She was healed right in front of our very eyes!”

“More than that,” interjects the other, “she was healed to such an extent that she ended up, not just walking, but running around the room. It felt like we were in a scene from the Gospels or the Book of Acts!”

Needless to say, our mealtime conversation is utterly transformed, our faith raised, as we go on to share the ways in which Jesus still heals today …

I was so encouraged and excited to hear of this story, that I asked my two friends to find me a recording of what happened. True to their word, they did, and the link is below.

You will see the speaker teaching the conference delegates and then suddenly heading off the platform to his left. You will hear him speaking authoritatively to the pain, commanding it to get off the woman in the name of Jesus. Then you will see it leave. After that, if you wait for a few minutes, you will see the woman running in front of the stage, arms pumping, with everyone in the room applauding!

We live in a society where seeing is believing; where we are more willing to accept that supernatural healing happens, in the name of Jesus, if we can witness it with our own eyes.

In the case of my two friends, this is what happened. They witnessed the supernatural healing of a wheelchair-bound woman who had been in pain for 25 years.

How would you feel if you had been in the shoes of my two friends? How would you feel if you were that woman? And what does it do for your faith in Jesus to see this kind of supernatural healing?
