C.S. Lewis once wrote: “Everyone says forgiveness is a lovely idea, until he has something to forgive.”

It was on the Cross that Jesus prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23 verse 34)

Without the Cross, there would be no forgiveness.

There would also be no mercy, no peace, no resurrection, no hope … and no Easter.

He used his servant body to carry our sins to the Cross so we could be rid of sin, free to live the right way. His wounds became your healing.” (1 Peter 2:24, The Message)

If you want an example of the power of forgiveness, made possible through Jesus’ death on the Cross, please set aside 15 minutes to watch this moving film.

Is there someone who you need to forgive?

May today – Good Friday – be the day when you, and they, experience the forgiveness that the Cross of Christ has made possible.
